Favorite Books of 2022
According to Goodreads, I read 103 books in 2022. And, because I can’t resist jumping in on the best-of-2022 list fun, these are my ten favorites.
Book Review: The Girl from Berlin
The Girl from Berlin is a World War II perspective you don’t come across often in historical fiction. The book is told in popular style of alternating timelines, which I normally enjoy, but didn’t love in this book. The two timelines are only 10 years apart, the first beginning in 1936 and the second in 1946.
Favorite Reads of 2020
I was the kid hiding a book under my desk at school, trying to read instead of listening to the math lesson. I used my daily piano “practice” as extra reading time, absently plunking the keys with one hand while turning the pages of my book with the other…
Summer 2020 Favorites
Though we've been back in (virtual) school for a few weeks, I consider Labor Day weekend the "official" end of summer. Normally, we'd spend as many hours as possible at the pool, trying to squeeze in every last drop of summer fun before the pool bag and beach towels make their way to a closet to be stored until next summer. This summer... well, it has just been one long blur of days that all seem the same.
Dear Library
Dear Library,
I apologize that it’s taken me so long to write this note. I was raised with the importance of thank you notes drilled into my head. Getting a timely thank you note out was imperative not only when receiving a gift, but also for meaningful experiences or opportunities.
A New Year, A New Decade
2020 is just around the corner, and it seems appropriate to reflect on both the past year and the past decade before the ball drops and a new decade starts. Ten years. A lot of life happens in ten years.
February Reads
I stayed on track with my reading goals this month, and read 5 books (plus a lot of the Mixed Up Truck, Firefighters A to Z, and Llama, Llama Red Pajama).
January Reads
Any other bookworms out there? Reading has always been one of my favorite things, and I used to ALWAYS have my nose in a book, and a book in my purse just in case I had a free minute.
